I'm just your average Mom & Wife,
who leads a fabulously crazy life.
I do a million & 1 things during the day,
and try like heck to blog about them!

Nina's 11th Glam Party!

So here we are, at the end of another month!
Another party came, and went.
Nina's 11th Birthday was a HUGE success!
This was such a fun party to plan ~
I really enjoyed all the projects that led up to her big night!

Nina had 19 fabulous little ladies attend her party!
They danced, giggled, and slept out in tents, in the backyard.
It was a great night, and Nina had the best time!
I was exhausted, but all that was pushed aside when she told me that
her friends were talking about how fabulous her party was, for days!

Just to recap from a previous post...
This was her Birthday party invitation - so glam!
All of her little friends were SO excited when they received them!

I did a mini photo shoot before her party.
The pictures turned out SO fabulous!
A few were displayed, in black & white, on her party table.

Remember that old chandelier I had in a previous post?
Well, here is a picture of the finished product!
I was so pleased with my project ~ black spray paint, zebra duck tape,
and feathers transformed this trash, into a treasure.
Nina loved it so much, that we're hanging it in her bedroom!

This 3 way mirror completed the glam patio. I knew the girls would love it!
This mirror is from Nina's room. I found it at a yard sale for $10
{I couldn't pass it up!}
It came in very handy for her glam party!

Look at this fabulous cupcake holder! I thought this looked oh-so-glam.
It displayed Nina's cupcakes beautifully!
Thank you for letting me borrow this, Arlene : )

I also added a few candle pillars, that served as cupcake stands.
I hand painted them black, and added pearls & ribbon.
Super cute, don't you think?!
All the cupcake toppers were custom made by me.

I made some water bottle labels.
They just make a plain bottle of water look, well... fabulous!
Liquid glitter for the girlies to drink.

We ordered these beautiful custom cookies from Sugar Expressions
{You really need to check them out}
Let me just say, they did an amazing job!
Nina had the best time picking out what she wanted.
Nina played an active role in designing her cookies during the consultation.
Sadly, my pictures don't do them any justice!
They wrapped each cookie in a celo bag w/ribbon, and a cute tag!

Here is Nina's dessert table!
Everything was fabulously displayed on
the old painted hutch that I transformed a few weeks prior!

These are the glam baskets that were waiting for each girl!
They loved them!
The glow bracelets came in handy that night.
I also created the name tags for each guest!

I had a mini glam station set up for the girlies ~
Complete w/nail polish, make up, mirrors, and make up remover.

The party guests had LOTS of fun getting glammed out!
Here they're putting on make up, and nail polish ~
They were all getting ready for the dance party!

Here's a picture of my glammed out patio before the guests arrived!
I got so many compliments on the transformation!
All the girlies were in awe as they walked into Nina's glam lounge!

At the drink station, there were plastic martini glasses set out for them.
The had fun drinking orange soda & punch.
I was careful to not serve anything with caffeine!

Here's a group shot of some of the party guests.
All of them were such a joy to have!
They loved to giggle & dance.

After dinner {Nina had a taco bar & pizza} the girls went night swimming!
It took several of them a while to feel safe in the pool.
They were convinced that sharks were swimming in there!

When they were done swimming, they feasted a bit more on popcorn & candy,
and then picked their spots for an outdoor movie!
We set up the projector for the girls - they loved it!
I hope you enjoyed reading about Nina's glam party,
half as much as I loved planning it!
...until my next event : )

The road to glitz & glam..

When one party ends, there's always another waiting to be planned.
At least that's how it is in my household!
I just got done throwing our baby a HUGE 1st Birthday bash -
{you wouldn't know this because I've been WAY too busy to post it}
But it's coming SOON... I promise!
Equally as special, is the party I'm planning for my middle child.
She is the funniest little thing - and wise beyond her years!
She's turning the fun age of 11.
She LOVES Selena Gomez, and wanted her party to reflect that.
I'm not sure if you've looked around the party aisles lately,
but there aren't any party goods w/Selena Gomez!
Actually, there is, but only of 'Alex Russo' the Wizard.
So what does that mean??
It means that I'm creating all the party decorations myself!
{It's been really fun!}
Nina's party is a Glitz & Glam theme - Selena Gomez style.
Below is my road to the glitz, and what I've come up with so far.

I know this doesn't look like much now, but just wait!
I saw these 2 pieces and immediately saw their potential!
The hutch is going to be used for her dessert table.
The chandelier will go in the "VIP lounge"

I put some primer on this bad boy, and then painted it black!
Doesn't it look better already??

Although I still haven't finished this piece,
I think it looks really cute with the pearl accents I added!
This will look SO cute holding all of Nina's desserts.

I'm really obsessed with black chandeliers!
Everywhere I turn, I see one on different party sites,
magazines, shops, etc.
This is as far as I've gotten on this pretty, little piece.
I've got pearls to add, and lamp shades to transform!

This was the invitation I created for her party!
{pearls, diamonds & shades were added for "dramatic" effect}
Each invitation was sent in a black envelope.
Sprinkles of star glitter fell out once the invite was opened!

Another furniture piece I "discovered" was this cute padded stool.
It's long, and is designed to sit at the foot of someone's bed.
This had LOTS of potential too!
I purchased 3 1/2 yards of this amazing zebra material -
I knew this was exactly what it needed!

See?! What'd I tell ya!
A total transformation - Perfect for Nina's VIP lounge!
But it still needed something...
Luckily my good friend Arlene had stopped by as I was covering this.
She suggested tulle for the bottom.
I just happened to have an entire bolt of it, in my garage!

A little tulle, a mini boa, and...
FABULOUS!
A glam looking bench, fit for a glam VIP lounge.

This is a picture of a table that's currently set up in my dining room!
It's filled with all sorts of stuff I've collected for the party.
{some of which was collected in various rooms of my house}

Look at this GORGEOUS cupcake stand!
My friend Arlene let me borrow it -
It's perfect for Nina's glam party!
I can't wait to display the delicious cupcakes on it!

A few cupcake toppers I created for my baby girl.
Her glam party is a mix of polka dots, zebra, black & white.
It's been very fun to work with!

Here is an example of the Selena Gomez decor I've had to create myself.
More cupcake toppers with her picture on them.
Don't you just LOVE the little tray?
You can find it at Michael's, in the Halloween section!

Here is the place settings for dinner.
Would you believe the forks & spoons are plactic?
Very kid friendly, and oh-so-glam party perfect!
I'll be up VERY late tonight, squeezing in all the last details.
Stay tuned for another Glam & Glitz party post!

Jordan's 1st trip to the Circus!

July was a VERY busy month for us!
Disneyland & California Adventure, Selena Gomez concert,
and camping with friends at the Vale Lake resort {not posted yet}
July 30th, and exactly 1 week before Jordan's 1st Bday party,
we were still plugging along, and took the kids to the Circus!
Ringling Bros. was in town!
Nina informed us that she had never been to a circus.
Seeing howJordan's party was circus themed, it only made sense that we go!

I had heard that if you show up an hour before the show,
you could catch all the circus animals relaxing before their big moment.
We thought it would be great for Jordan & Nina to get a close up look!
Here's Danny & Jordan watching a few horses put on a little pre-show.
Jordan really enjoyed watching them!

Our next stop was to see the elephants!
Jordan liked watching them eat straw, and throw dirt on their backs.

Once we were finished looking at the animals before the show,
we bought Jordan a pair of kooky clown glasses, and headed inside.
Jordan was showing a little girl his new glasses, while we were in line.

Once we got inside the Honda Center, we discovered a show going on.
We got to head down to the center of the ring, and mingle with the performers!

Here are a few talented jugglers, stealing the spotlight.
They were amazing!

For being such a little guy, you could tell that Jordan was enjoying himself!
He loved watching the performers, and even clapped his chubby, little hands.
Look how he's captivated!

In fact, Jordan was so excited, he threw his arms around Danny,
and gave him a BIG kiss on his cheek!
How sweet is that?!

Danny & the kids got to take a picture with one of the clowns!

Jordan & I got settled in our seats, while Danny & Nina grabbed us lunch.
Look how happy Jordan looked!
{actually he's always this happy}

The show was starting!
The lights, music, and all the performers were MESMERIZING!
At one point, a few of the clowns had Nina & I in tears
We were laughing so hard!

Jordan was watching the show, and he started laughing!
{I mean, REALLY laughing}
I'm not really sure what tickled his funny bone.
How cute is this picture of my little guy chuckling?!
He kept saying, "Woooooow" and pointing. Too cute!
Jordan fell asleep 20 minutes into the show.
But up until then, he was having a blast!
Our trip to the circus was another fun & memorable Aguirre family trip!

California Adventure with Nina!

Hanging out with Nina is one of my favorite things to do!
She's my little mini me, and we have so much fun together!
Her and I decided to spend a full day at Disneyland, and
California Adventure.
All that park hopping can be exhausting!
But it was worth the sore calves, and tired feet.

Nina and I were ready to tackle the day at the Disneyland resort!

We stopped to watch this great show.
A very talented group of young kids. They had Nina & I dancing!
They sang songs from Disney channel shows & movies.

I made reservations for lunch, and got a reserved seat forWorld of Color!
We couldn't wait to see the show.

Meanwhile, Nina did a little rock climbing...

And we tried on silly ears.

We had a little ketchup with our dinner.
{Only 2 packets were left by the time we finished eating!}

We even got to take a picture with Russell!
He's soooo cute!!

World of Color!
Fabulous show. Nina and I really enjoyed it.
It was a perfect ending to a fabulous day with my baby girl!
I love you Nina!

Selena Gomez Concert!

One Saturday in July, Nina & her friends,
attended the Selena Gomez concert in Costa Mesa, CA
Nina is a HUGE Selena fan, and a lot of her friends are too!
The girls, and their Moms all met at our house.
We were all looking forward to a fun evening out - just us girls!

Here they are, doing some finishing touches to their hair.
 Spray glitter was a must!
Nina's friend Bethanie bought each girl a cute headband.

Once they were done primping, we were off to dinner!
We decided on Ruby's Diner for a quick bite.
Yummy food, and it was close to the venue.
Don't they look adorable in their matching headbands?

The girls quickly ate their dinner, and then we were off to see Selena!
Bethanie, Vanessa, Nina, and Michaela

Michaela & Nina were all smiles during the Selena Gomez concert!
I think they knew every song.
And of course, they sang along.

The venue was packed!
People of all ages were in attendance that night.
Even I sang along...
I knew more of Selena's songs than I thought I did.
All the girls {and us Moms} had a great time dancing & singing!

And no concert is complete, unless you buy a Tshirt!
Here are the little darlings in their new Selena Gomez shirts.
We all had a really fun time!
Thanks for a fun & memorable evening, ladies!
